Cottagers & Indians

By Drew Hayden Taylor

“After a year of violence and tension within our region over water rights between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people, it seems like a perfect time to look at both sides of a different, yet similar, story.” – Richie Wilcox, AD

Maureen is a summer cottager who loves the peace and quiet of her lakeside getaway. Arthur is a local man who is cultivating wild rice on the lake to make a living. And there the battle begins as this comedic satire tackles this real life event based on the Kawartha Lakes region in Ontario. The prolific Drew Hayden Taylor gives us a deft comedy tackling contemporary debates on environmentalism, water usage, land ownership and more!
