A TRIBUTE TO BUCK OWENS & THE BAKERSFIELD SOUND
By Ryan Cook
Ryan Cook returns to Ships Company Theatre with a tribute to Country singer Buck Owens.
Ryan Cook presents a tribute to late Country singer Buck Owens and his band The Buckaroos! Owens created the “Bakersfield Sound”, a distinct flavour of country music that opposed the “Nashville sound” charting 21 #1 hits on Billboard charts between 1963-1988. In this show you’ll hear the familiar songs of Buck’s catalog like “A Tiger by the Tail”, “Waitin in your Welfare Line”, “Together Again”, and collaborations/cover songs Buck worked into his shows of artists like Simon & Garfunkel, Ringo Starr, The Band, and Dwight Yoakam. A special one-time only Ships Company production, not to be missed!
Band members: Ryan Cook (Vocals, rhythm guitar). Phil Sedore (Electric lead Guitar), Dave Campbell (Pedal-Steel Guitar), Jill Chambers (Bass Guitar), Barry Seymour (Drums)
